It's a good day...

Boondock Saints is a cult classic and by far one of my favorite movies, so when I read that the much awaited sequel Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day will be in theaters on October 30th this year I had to change my pants. The story is as follows: The Saints are living in the sticks in Ireland on a sheep farm trying to ignore the past. They are told that their childhood Priest in Boston was murdered and they have been framed for it. They are forced to travel to Boston to clear their names and bring some good ol' fashioned justice to whoever framed them. I watched the trailer and I'm sold because not only are the Saints played by the same actors but EVERY main actor from the first film is reprising their roles (outside of Willem Dafoe, his character is not in the movie) even Bob Marley (the white one not the famous Reggae musician, he is afterall deceased) as Detective Greenly.

Here's the Redband trailer (watch out they use Potty Language)

The revenge of the ICH

ICH has reared its ugly head yet again in my poor defenseless fish tank. BUT this time I was prepared and in 3 short days I whooped it's nasty self into submission and saved the lives of Ziggy and Russel. Speaking of Zigs and Russ I fed them some crickets today, they absolutely loved them and it was pretty tight to watch them snatch the crickets before they even hit the water.

I already loved Citizen Cope but recently I was reminded why I loved his music and have been doing nothing but listening to it for the last couple days. Son's gonna rise and sideways are my two favorites so if you'd like some extra credit check 'em out.

Oscars, Mid-terms, and Miley Cyrus songs....

I haven't posted in a while and I apologize for that (Paul) but I'm going to give this thing a whirl....

Recently my fish tank full of my prized possessions (my fish are like my babies) had an outbreak of a parasite known as "Ich" slowly killing off all six of my fish. I had started treatment too late as I had not recognized the symptoms soon enough. By the time the treatment was completed only one fish remained, a hearty Plecostomus, but he passed shortly afterwards. After making sure the water was safe for life I purchased 2 beautiful young Albino Tiger Oscars which I named Ziggy and Russell. My roommates love them strictly for the reason that they hunt down and eat live fish, its actually pretty fun to watch in a sick and twisted way.

...Meanwhile...

I started my mid-terms today I had my relatively easy American Civil War midterm this morning and I have my soul-crushing British Classics exam tomorrow no matter how much I read and annotate I'll never feel ready for that monstrosity.

...Flashback to Saturday...

I went to a party at a friend's house last weekend just because my roommate and I were alone in the apartment and really wanted to get out before cabin fever set in. When we got there it was good to see everyone. As the night passed we all started to get less and less...well lets just say at the end of it myself and 4 other guys were singing and swaying to that terribly catchy-I mean gay Miley Cyrus song "Party in the USA" and to make matters worse we did it twice in a row...to the same song.

I'll turn in my Man card to the front desk immediately...

I finally have internet!

So its been nearly a month since I've updated...meaning I'm bound to have something to blog about right? I mean it's only logical...

Well I'm on a new campus and I love it.

I've been sober for over a month.

and I still suck at this thing...

...District 9...

I saw District 9 last night and let me just say one thing: wow. It was a great movie with an awesome story. I mean, anytime an Alien tells a government agent to "Fuck off" in his own language with a caption so we can see that said Alien told the agent to "Fuck off" the movie becomes an instant classic in my eyes. Overall it was a good movie with a great ending and I suggest you go see it...right now.

The THIRD post...bum bum baaaaah

So I hadn't updated in a bit...myyy baaaad. I didn't have anything to post about but I guess that's great thing about a blog about nothing, anything I post here is relevant...absolute freedom.

THE NEXT FOOD NETWORK STAR
I'm happy with the outcome. The final two were my favorites of the show, Jeffery Saad and Melissa de'Arabian, congratulations to Melissa I'm excited for the premiere next week (as if she'll be reading this.) Speaking of TNFS during the last commercial break they had an awesome teaser trailer for a new season of The Next Iron Chef. You know I'll be following it like it's my job.

NEXT TOPIC...caps?
I had just recently spoken to my brother and he had mentioned getting pumped to my Ring back tone "La Grange" by ZZ top...if you haven't heard this song I feel terrible for you. Click the link to rock out my friends...

I'm done for the day...Party on Garth...

Lightening Bolt! A nerd rant

LARPing (Live Action Role Playing) if you've never heard of this gold mine of "nerdom" then I suggest you watch this video. LARP is basically World of Warcraft mixed with a cracked out Renaissance Fair acted out by the nerds who got tired of sitting in front of their computers for 11 hours straight slaying warthogs to level up their Paladins. They give each other names like Kuzzik, Artonious, and the Mighty Quinn (there's the Manfred Mann reference for you)

The movie Role Models really opened up the world of LARP to basically everyone not nerdy enough to try it. I liked the way they did it, making it fun for everyone even LARPers (I think that's right). Check out the only decent clip I could get on youtube.

Hopefully you learned something new with this one...I'm gonna go drink some Margaritas now...

Probably not that funny...but intros are intros

So this is my first actual blog...it probably won't be funny, interesting, or even the slightest bit useful considering I don't know which direction I'm going to take it yet. All I know is my brother has one and he likes it.

I guess I could fill it with recipes I've tried, movies I recommend, and toilet humor and "thats what she said" jokes...but I'll probably just end up doing Nothing, a blog about nothing, sounds intreguing.

Time for an intro. I'm JD and I'm a lazy ex Mascot turned college student studying history. I'm a fan of music, sports, stupid funny movies, even stupider jokes, and pina coladas and getting caught in the rain (Rupert Holmes reference???).

Well I think that'll do for a first post...maybe if you play your cards right I'll give you a Manfred Mann reference next time...
